I have a KM Bizhub c280 that has been giving me these weird vertical black lines. I have included a scan of the consumables page printed from the printer.

A few things:
It happens on everything that is printed, from both trays and the bypass tray.
The lines move from page to page, shifting left to right about 4 inches between pages. I can upload a sequence of pages if people need.
The lines are only on the side being printed on. Nothing on the back unless 2 sided printing is being done, and then the lines are added to each side as they print. And shifting between pages as mentioned above.
We have had a tech out who claimed to have no idea.

Does anyone have an idea on what I need to do to fix this?

Please print out the colour halftone test pages set to 125 and post them please.

Also indicate the feed direction, that would help.

I remember we have this "car tire" pattern on old C203 and bad Ph unit/laser was causing that.

Had something very similar on the previous generation copier. There was a bulletine about it. Was down to one of the control boards at the back of the copier. Possibly Lazer but I'm leaning towards one of the boards.

Try the test pages posted by blackcat first to figure out if you have a bad IU or not, but this looks like and I/O issue to me. I am suspecting ram.

Apparently my scanner is slightly crooked. (Not the one on the printer in question).

Someone asked about feed direction so I'll answer that the beset I can.
Facing the printer the pages sit portrait, feed to the right, and print out face down top to the left (landscape).

you cant use portrait and landscape in the same sentence, its confusing.
simply say SEF or LEF. we understand.

Printer feeds from the paper tray LEF, but rolls out to be picked up the other way, facedown. Not sure how to describe that better.

That's clear enough. From the images I've seen it's got to be primary transfer belt cleaning or black drum cleaning.

If it's primary transfer belt cleaning the color of the background will be composite black: closer to brown or purple.
If it's black drum cleaning the color of the background will be black ... just black.
I can't really be sure from the scans, but Colorpic tells me the background is ~6%K and nothing else. =^..^=
