good evening to all

I need to reset the service password in a konica minolta c258 the procedure I believe is the following

menu ---- counter ---- print list --- display keypad
stop-0-9-3-1-7
nothing happens
after the minutes that have been put, I can enter the service without a password. right procedure?

I need the firmware to do this procedure which I think is the A7PU0Y0-F000-G00-83

Does A7PU0Y0-F000-G00-84 still work?

none of that is correct at all.
thats a recovery procedure for admin password lockout on the smaller boxes.

also g00-84 is from 2016.
current version is G00-W4

I thought the procedure was the one I have all the manuals but I wanted to know if there was a different way to do ram initialization

If not KM dealer you cannot reset CE password on this model there isn't reset tar file but lms.
Ask your KM support if possible for the right procedure. Sorry, not much help.

Dear
I commented that to restore the EC you can use the fw (reset tools)
and then do the procedure you did
If you do not recover, you must contact KM so that they generate a code to be able to reset the password to that of the bone factory 9272927292729272

This procedure is only to clear the release timer after you entered the wrong CE too many times.

It will not reset the CE password.

You'll need to contact Konica or use the NVRam reset tool.

How about entering CE mode from the trouble reset screen you dont need to enter the password then enter enhanced security by pressing stop 0 C then turn off CE authentication.

Try this method be interested to see if it will work.

i can confirm if CE password is enabled entering via trouble reset will still request password.

it would be security flaw if it did

if you can contact KM to reset password you will need to do following

At CE password screen press stop then clear

this will give you a token code to supply

Yeah but then you have to do run-up procedure again.

Resetting code with help from KM is much easier imo

Interesting thread. Thanks for posting it.

I am considering selling one of these to a long time customer. From what I gather it sounds like a fairly good machine.
He will need to be able to run the 12X18" paper, so I may have to look at the BHC308.

But I am interested in what techs that work on this model have to say. Any re-occurring problems? Or quirks?
I am an indy and will find the service manuals before I get the machine.

Is this CE authentication turned on at the factory? I have worked the BHC line for a number of years and would like
to stay with this brand.

Thanks

DR
