    Printing on Chrome OS

Installing a C458 on Chrome OS for first time

It finds printer on network but with what seems to just be a generic driver.

I downloaded the PPD and tried both cups 1.1 and cups 1.2.
in both 1.1 folder and 1.2 it has two PPD files.
One is 300KB and chrome OS says it can only support PPD files less than 250KB so I tried the smaller 30KB files but it doesnt work. Tried this in both 1.1 and 1.2 folders.

Am I missing some step? I dont have Chrome OS so I cant play around testing in the workshop

For now i setup cloud printing from a Windows PC.

Does Chrome OS even support a driver that can allow use of finishers and banner printing? the Cloud printer wont even let me specify a paper tray or else I would just have left them with the cloud print option.

    thanks

Yeah cloud printing is working fine. was hoping i could do a local install to unlock more print features. If local install doesnt give any extra features over cloud printing I will stick with cloud printing and explain ChromeOS has its pro's and cons and this is one of the cons
