Color registration correction results in abnormality.

Color registration marks for each color are transferred on to the transfer belt during this process. The locations are detected by the color registration sensors. This information is used to determine the "image drift" amount for each color.

Possible replacement parts:
Color Registration sensor/Front (operation side of machine) (PS8)
Color Registration sensor/Rear (non-op side) (PS9)

Worse case scenerio: Problem with Printer Control Board

Maybe someone has some methods for cleaning these sensors instead of replacing them...

Could be caused by the transfer belt walking to the front of the assy. So pull it out and check. Also, go into service mode and run halftone test pattern on all colors. Make sure sheets come out covered completely with all colors.

Hi,
I have had this problem before sometimes that code 45-20 can be caused by other things so it be worth while turning off the color registration sensor from the dip switchs in 25 mode and see if you can get the machine to start up.

Thanks to all for advice. Once I recharged all four developers the SC45-20 went away.
