Hi all,

After a routine service & updating the firmware the machine throws D385 so after choosing 'recover data' it just sits doing nothing for hours.

This error is not listed in the service manual so am bit stuck on how to proceed?

Error indicates a broad spectrum for a Nonvolatile data error, and HDD is a nonvolatile memory component.

Flash latest base firmware.

Do not shut off machine.

Wait until “Recover Data” appears. (MFP will reboot maximum 2 times by itself, it may take 5 minutes).

Touch the “Recover Data” button and follow the instructions that appear on the control panel to restore (backup) data.

Select [Yes].

Check the message which indicates that the data restoration was successfully conducted. Turn OFF the main power switch and turn it ON again more than 10 seconds after.

Test printer. If code does not clear, perform a Self-diagnostic.

Call the Service Mode to the screen.

Touch these keys in this order: [State Confirmation] -> [Self-diagnostic] -> [Check All].

Press the Start key to start the check procedure.

When the check procedure is completed, the results are shown on the screen.

Formatted the HDD if it comes back as NG.

Formatted the SSD if it comes back as NG.

Perform a Self-diagnostic again.

If issue persist, check connection to the SSD board and the HDD.

If issue persists replace the HDD and or SSD board. If replacing them both, do it as a set.

Did you resolve this? I think I may have the same issue.
I suspected SSD board but you've already done that.

Did you loose any counter data?

This was a tough fault as D385 error was not in the manual!

Yes I spent a good few hours on it today, mine had lost all its counter data including service counters an jam counters.
