I have a Konica Bizhub C659 that I’m trying to setup with Gmail (google apps) as the SMTP server but so far I keep getting “Server connection errors”. I’ve made sure the DNS settings on the Konica are pointed to public DNS servers (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4, 1.1.1.1)

SMTP = smtp.gmail.com

StartTLS 587

Allow less secure apps is enabled on the account it’s attempting to scan through

What am I missing? Can it be firmware related?

admin address and login address must be the same,

First DNS setting should be the gateway the second would 8.8.8.8

run a ipconfig /all to check the DNS and gateway settings
also double check the less secure app setting on google had one the other day that would change back to off

also 2 part authentication needs to be off on google

It would help to know if it's a login or server connection error. E

That's all been done, still doesn't work.

Your three dns settings are already incorrect one should be the gateway
Try changing to ssl and 465

Really good info, but from a long time in the past..Everyone is using hosted mail, and the success/failure is based on whatever the latest security change was.. Are you certian you have POP disabled? Can you run TELNET and verify the ports are open? E

Update.. I was able to TELNET to smtp.gmail.com port 465, but every other port was closed. E

I had the gateway as the primary DNS with Google as the secondary and Cloudflare as the third and it made no difference. Same with switching between SSL465 and TLS587. I've tried all that before posting here. I keep getting Server Connection Error

Ahh I had a typo in the admin email address. Off by one letter. It's working now via SSL 465. Thanks for everyone's help!

For those who come to this thread in the future:

Protocol configuration is incorrect.
Gmail doesnt works on TLS but on SSL. So when you find:
Use SSL / TLS: set "SMTP over SSL" - port 465 (already present by default)

Does not work? You cannot configure it with accounts with double verification or high security. In the security settings, Google activates access to less secure apps.

Personal advice Never create an account to share with multiple users. This could result in a violation of privacy. Furthermore, for security reasons, Google may block the account if it detects access from multiple IP addresses in different areas.

on the Bizhub, in admin mode, you have a box for the admin email, and one for the device email address....leave the device email address blank and put the gmail email address where it says device name.
