SSD is behind the HDD on that model. It would never boot up if missing!

SSDB is behind HDD on non e-series and over the memory sticks on e-series. This machine should be non-e, is my guess.

@mearmi, if machine is C224 there is FW ver. GA8-K5 that amongst other improvements has this:
- The troublecode C-2650 may occur after starting the MFP by turning a main power switch off/on or returning from powersave mode.

It is e version. Returning from power save mode it is working fine.

If you are 100% certain it's an e model, then someone has done something to modify this copier.

No matter if you believe this to be a C224e model or not, that board belongs to a C224, there is no way around that. SSD is behind the HDD. Oh, and in your picture, the HDD is disconnected, had you already looked behind it?
