Hi
Have a strange issue on a C284e.

When we print a counter out or anything from list output we get the below. It has squashed or shrunk the image down.

Long edge Feed
45291

Short Edge Feed

45292
They do seem to print out much slower than normal.

This is an A3 counter list
45293

Print & copy jobs are fine. The demo page & configuration page are also fine.

Firmware was the latest (M1). Tried reinstalling it and MFP reset.

Any suggestions?

Latest base G20-M1 or special GDN-M1? The reason I'm asking is because there is a good 3 years time difference between them.
Maybe worth to try newer FW version if on G20-M1. Also what about consumables page and internal prints in CE mode?
I would run also full diagnostic, just in case. Maybe reseat Memory/s.
In any case I'm interested in your findings.
Good luck.

Wow! That is a new one and really strange. I've never seen it but will check the Kon/Min knowledge base for you later today (unless you have access to it and looked already)?

Its G20-M1. Was always warned off using the "Special" firmwares! Consumable page prints out the same (squashed), as does the maintenance, parameters etc.

In Service>Test mode, they all print out as normally!

One of the other engineers ran the diagnostics which all came back ok.

Will try reseating memory.

Thanks for the help!

We are an Olivetti dealer, have access to Olivetti's side of things. Plenty of bulletins, but nothing relevant to this!

If you could have a look, that would be great, thanks!

I've already tried. Nothing came up. Did you try to print list from bypass tray? It's interesting because it moves image differently main/sub scan according to paper size.

Just tried that, all exactly the same as feeding from the paper trays.

Yes came acroos this the other day on a C754e. Tried firmware, plus reseating memory, etc. This baby throws up a CE-004 code as well. Only when you print the counter list. Very odd.

already happened to me in some equipment I tried all the firmware so far
until I did an initialization-clear all data did not recover
I don't know what it is, but it worked

I had this exact issue. The solution is to do a full system clear. Do not back up anything ie: address book or settings, because importing them again after the system clear will recreate the issue. Al data will have to be reentered.

i had kinda similar issue with faxes reducing from A4 to A5.

like the above said when in doubt just system clear everything, how ever in my case i re imported the address book from a CSV without and problem but i re did the network settings manually so maybe its just restoring the admin data that reintroduces the problem?

Thanks for all the input. Hopefully we will get to try some of the suggestions out in the not too distant future.

Stay safe and indoors!

Be sure to change the laser unit before you try anything else!

In all seriousness, I am curious to find out what figure out :)

Must be a faulty cap on that laser that compresses the data....

I didn't even consider the flux capacitor in those things! ;)
