Hi all

I have a fiery disconnecting itself from the machine around the same time every day.
Fiery does not crash just disconnects. Turning machine off / on , machine reconnects and all is good
Happens off the network. Tried a different fiery with same result
Anyone have any ideas?

Do you mind to mention machine model and fiery you're working on?

sounds to me like he has a timer setting that is going wonkers ... he needs to double check or print out fiery settings and upload.

maybe CMOS battery in the server is dying?

Thx for the input
Tried 2 servers with same result
Couldn't find any timers that might cause the issue

could be auto updating if it happens the same time every day.
recheck your Fiery configuration.

Nope
set to auto update at 3 oclock am
Neither fiery or machine shut-off
just loose connection

Maybe there is some energy saving option

get the dsw list from another machine of the same family and compare ,think you may find an undocumented switch has been set.

Yeah pretty good idea. There's soft switch comparing tool to help with automatic comparison.

can you ping the copier or open PSWC during its "disconnected" time?
i dont remember if the fiery is a passthrough on that model or the copier has its own ethernet connection.
can you remote desktop into the fiery and maybe check the system/event logs for clues?
maybe a windows service is having an issue or has some scheduled backup or virus scan?
backup the fiery settings and run the restore function on the fiery that will clear all settings and be factory fresh.
im more interested in if it loses network connectivity or just fiery to copier connectivity through the video cable. could be a wonky VI board but i need more data.

It may have something to do with the marketplace app..We have had more than a few issues with anything that uses the web browser functionality go whacky (tech term) when the app tries to launch itself to check for updates, especially if you can ping the Fiery, the new machines use the Web browser to dispaly on the LCD. It disconnects when it is disconnected from the network.
I have tried importing softswitch settings from another working machine as well.
Very weird

replace the crossover cable between the fiery and copier.
make sure the Fiery has a static IP.
enable remote desktop and monitor through command workstation on the fiery
check windows event logs while remoted in.

That doesn't make sense..The Fiery is not attached to the MFP via the network, but through the Video Interface. I have set these up many times and you don't need a active network connection to access the Fiery. Something else is going on here. What does the LCD numeric LEDs say? "00" E

fiery is at 00
at 10:45 ish it will disconnect from machine.
Neither machine or fiery loses power
Rebooting machine will re-establish connection.
Happens every day.
Next step is to start replacing cct bds

i cant tell from the posts if the fiery disconnects from the machine or the LAN itself or if the copier was on sleep timer somewhere.
was never clear on the exact symptom other than it disconnects.
im still not clear.

Fiery disconnects from machine.

ok, so can you open remote desktop and view the system and event logs in windows?
might be a clue there.

I missed the post about it being a production Fiery..This changes everything I mentioned..Now it sounds more like a IC OS setting or issue.

FYI
Problem solved by installing nvram data from a working machine

Hello, I'm having the same problem with Fiery IC-415 on Konica Minolta C1070. The Fiery is a Linux OS and it will disconnect from the printer and the network about 2 to 3 times a day. I've have to restart it to connect again. The code on the back of the Fiery is 00.

Here are the things I've done so far:

I've done a clean reinstall
Installed a new hard drive
Changed/upgraded the power supply
Disabled "Fiery Health Monitor" -- another forum claims this should solve the problem
Changed "Network Speed" to "100Mbps Full-Duplex" from "Auto" -- another forum claims this should solve the problem
Turned of "SNMP" -- another forum claims this should solve the problem.

All the above did not solve my issue.

@beetle73 -- how can I install NVRAM data?

Problem
Fiery disconnects and requires a reboot.
Solution
CAUSE: Power Synchronization is set to OFF in Fiery Configuration.
SOLUTION: Set Power Synchronization to ON.

just something else to check.

Thanks for your suggestion. Power Synchronization has always being set to ON in the Fiery Configuration.
