Two things. The electrical connection are different. The c554 has much bigger bearings supporting the fuser sleeve roller. The c454 has the small bearings that disintegrate.

Thanks. The C554 has cleaning roller bushings that are toast along with the cleaning roller. Now to find part numbers for ordering . Lots of fun

Probably the most common issue with the models that use that style fuser.

Brush Cleaning Roller A2XK740400

Teflon Cleaning Roller A2XK740301

Cleaning roller bushing A2XK742901

Brush roller bushing A161771000

There may be new style / color bushings?

Ball bearing 4120550302

The small bearings that disintegrates is used in a lot of finishers, FS 527, FS 534, etc. I take them out to use in these fusers when I strip parts off finishers before trashing.

Also available as a repair kit HHFRC754E-C754A, used for 554, 654 and 754 models. Recommend using hi-temp grease on bushings.

Also wanted to add I've seen both cleaning rollers removed and machine ran 100's of thousands prints with no fuser issues. All single side of course, don't think it would hold up well with a lot of 2 sided.

I've personally left the cleaning rollers out out for a few weeks while getting parts and returning. No unusal build up on rollers, etc. Rollers look fine. Think you could leave them out permanently on high volume account that run mostly 20lb plain paper single side only, but don't hold me to it:confused:

The whole assy. with both cleaning rollers or just one of the roller assys? If just one of the rollers, which one? We've never tried removing either of them so I was wanting the inside info.

The whole ass’y once they dry out it wears the pressure roller also squeaks so we simply leave it out.

The pressure rollers of the two models are different, the fixing film is different, and the sponge roller inside the fixing film is also different

What we do is just remove the brush roller assembly once that bushing wears out on it. It's as simple as removing the 2 small springs and 1 E-clip. The brush roller assembly then slides to the side a little bit and comes right out. Have never had a problem with dirty pages because of removing the brush roller.

I took out and left out the brush roller and ordered a new one. Good to know it’s not vital
