What is the purpose of this black film on bizhub 227?

Hi, for years I have been installing bizhub 227 and I have never understood where to put this. And above all, what is it for?

Maybe in user's guide holder at the back of machine. To prevent paper from falling.

Looks like an ADF anti pinch guard that goes on the feeder hinge to cover the hazardous area.
Without a reference for size that's my guess.

This is very good call however I think this blank label is way too small and white colored.

Anyway, Bix I'm constantly amazed how good are you at crafting such a good topics.

Now that you say that, it clicked and you are correct, that label I pictured would be white and not black like the one Bix showed. It was just a quick look on here at lunch time, so the brain was running in neutral at that point. :cool:

Its about 20x20cm.
When i first time see 227 i was wondering where to install this and on later machines just put it in the DK :)

Ps:i think it should go on the back metal cover on the machine.

you should have seen when they tried to sell gas by the liter here 40 years ago, people lost their friggin mind!

where was it when you unboxed the machine? is there nito tape on it?is it rubber? vinyl? paper? was it in a sleeve or maybe just packing material?
its not in the install guide for the machine or the feeder.

I find this in every new installation of bizhub 227. In the installation manual there is no reference to what this is.
The dimensions are 220x225. Inside me I have this curiosity every time and must understand what it is hahah

Any adhesive on it anywhere? I don't do machine setup, so I've never personally seen what a 227 comes with, and I'd have to wait until the end of the weekend to see if any of the guys in the office doing setup has a clue.

With something that size, all I could even imagine was maybe something you'd stick to the underside of the scanner assembly in the output area to prevent paper from catching on something under there.

You are right,i barely can remember but i think when this 227 just come to us for the first time they did not come with this sheet and install manual also does not have any info about it.
Maybe over year ago 227 start to come with this sheet and changed install manual.
Its little strange they supply sheet and old install manual without info about where to install ...

Well my understanding is KM install manuals aren't their best. Recentlly I installed a batch of DF-632 on C250i machines and every DF manual has mistake in skew adjustment section.

So instead of giving a fully enclosed manual holder, they provide a "frame" and you use the flimsy sheet to make up for the few cents in plastic they saved on the holder? Wow...
