We have 2 really strange machines, neither seem to reset their consumable counts when they are replaced which is screwing up the devs and drums very fast.

We only noticed because the costs of these 2 machines was going through the roof 7 devs and 10 drums in a 6 month time frame. They are C308 and a C258 on the latest firmware. When putting a new dev in they go through the motions and the levels are at 6%-7% stable but the count do not reset, the drums do the same thing. Anyone got any ideas?

Hi, are the drum and developer unit OEM?

Same ones we use in the hundred other ones. Genuine Konica iu313k and the dv313's doesn't matter which colour none reset their counts.

One component that concerns consumables is the EEPROM.
Have you tried starting a Full Self Diagnostic? No error code in the service menu?
The firmware you said is the latest. But exactly which one? is G00-X4 or higher?

Do Initialize all to restore default settings. Make sure someone didn't put machine into state to not recognize new units don't remember the name now but should be in manual.

Several C558's with all original oem drums, etc. (meterw were low enough to not yet expire any drum) have a 2017 K drum install date which matches the cmy drum install dates. Ok so far... When we put a new oem DR313k in, the 10 bars reset, life goes to 99% and there is now no yield expiration date BUT- the K drum install date is still the same as the cmy drums... 2017...
We always do all data clear and latest fw when we refurb & sell off lease bizhubs. Everything works fine. I think this is now on at least 4 different C558 and C658 machines.
Sorry this doesn't help but just piles on the weirdness...

i had the same scenario recently, 3 OEM drums no reset but i swapped chips with a color one and it told me improper drum installed so i know the 3 "fingers" are reading the chip ok.
still not solved.

I'd like to have a discussion with you about 8 series oem k vs cmy drums.
Long ago my profile got screwed up and it has always said I have 65,554 messages.
I'm not the best at using this forum's pm. How ca we talk? Email? Text, Whatsapp?
It also says I am Donn0144. Not sure why.

The screen says I have some 65,535 messages of 100 allowed. I try to clear it and it remains unchanged. been that way for years. See screenshot.46220

its obviously a glitch with web site. id say your only hope of fixing it is to use this contact page. https://www.copytechnet.com/forums/sendmessage.php

it would be pretty funny if it didnt let you send a message due to the problem your trying to report lol
