The network settings are missing
No option 5 on bizhub 20C-4
But network config shows
IP address 192.168.1.200
When network cable is plug in I have green light and flashing green light as if it’s on the network
Can not ping IP
I am copier engineer but not trained on this model
Just wondered if it was a easy fix
Like a nic reset
Hope someone can help
As this is for a friend
Cheers Mick

what is the model on the door? you need to change the soft sw to read machine. set sw 10 to hex 02 this will give model on config page. you can do a network reset is service mode to see if tab shows up

Yeah, that thing is messed up, should never read generic. Something got pretty scrambled in that thing. Probably would have been easier to just look at the label on the front of the machine. Based on the firmware, it looks like it should be a Bizhub C203/C253/C353 series.

Yeah I remember the NEC cross to the C203 series would have the generic firmware and you would get the moons on the display when booting up. Had a few kon/min with the generic firmware and moons and they worked fine.

Hi guys

Thanks for reply’s so far
There is no model on front door
Just a label with the name
Develop
So I will remove this and see
What it is
As it’s been rebadged

How do you reset the Nic ?

to make NIC you need nvram recovery to this specific machine.
write it on CF card and pull to machine.
then turn on and preform NIC

Look at the rear of the machine or maybe even the left side of the copier - for a label giving you the make/model , serial number and the year manufactured.

Generic 20C-4 is a bizhub C203

As someone else said, you need to change a dip switch to reflect the correct model:

1. Access the Service Mode.
2. Select System 2.
3. Select Software Switch Setting.
4. Enter Switch No. "10"
5. Change Hex Assignment to display "02"
6. Click on Fix.
7. Click on End.
8. Power the MFP OFF/ON.
9. Print another Configuration Page. Page Header should now be changed to Konica Minolta.

To reset the NIC, go back into Service Mode > System 1 > Initialization > Network Setting Data > Start button > OK > Reboot.

Not sure abot switch 10. In case it's Develop or Olivetti or other rebadges it should NOT be 02.
It must be 02 for KM machines.
And have to correct myself. If machine is C203 or its analog NIC reset is performed by NVRAM procedure not in Sys 1 menu. Zoool is completely right.

Yeah, in a later comment he stated it said Develop on the front door. I don't know what the hex number should be for this brand. About all I can suggest is to keep trying different numbers until you get one that comes up as Develop. Hex 01, 03, 04, 05. If I remember correctly, they are all low numbers in a row, so it shouldn't take but a couple attempts to find the correct one.

Just getting this set correctly might fix the networking issue. I know that when I was messing with a machine one time, changing this value, I noticed that network settings were wiped out each time I changed the value of switch 10. Just a guess, but that might be all that is wrong with it.

Great but what was the solution (or are you still exploring)?

And for you guys that know a lot more than me, why in the blazes would (or should) any of this concern TCP/ip? These are global standards (regardless of v4 or v6 or any network settings).

Also I have never had problems when resetting machines to generic (moons, etc).

I think we might be off track.

Of course, I always change the settings to modify this... buuut... this never fixed anything in doing so. It was strictly relegated to aesthetics. Please correct me if I am wrong.
