Hi all,

Quick question, most Bizhubs come with the 320GB HDD & from what I have seen this is more than enough.

Now as we know they do fail & we fit another drive the same size, fine.

However, I have a box of old 80GB drives could I use these?

Mainly for low volume light use machines, 5 scans per day etc.

Has anyone tried?

In series 3 they are Sata hard drive. It had or has 250 GB and 320 GB.
On the Bizhub 360 420 500 they were 80 GB, but they were IDE hard drives

agreed, i tried a 250Gb in a c454 and it didnt play nice at all.
maybe it would work on monochrome but any color konica should be 320 or larger.

Official size is 250 GB for 4 and 8 series, and even for i series the same size but SSD.
You can put 320GB or 500GB drive inside but it will be formated and using 250 GB space.

What was problem with yours?
Format physical, logical, movie data and you are good to go!

Thanks for the replies the 80GB drives are SATA.

I will put them in a USB caddy & use as back up etc. Shame to bin them.

I've seen 250 and 320, depend what was available at the time of manufacturing. I've even put 500GB drive when replacing defrctive one, but after format all of them shown 250 GB because it is the amount of space used by machine. Any space above 250GB is useless and is not used. Check it out.

Good to know. I just looked at C224e series specs and surprised to see "standard" HDD is 250GB. Since every HDD I've replaced on the "4" series was 320GB assumed I needed to use that size.
