Necessary Devices (servers)

It is necessary to confirm SMTP Service is ready in receiver’s Mail Server when GroupWare (Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange, Novell GroupWise, etc.) is used.

Scan to E-Mail function can send e-mail to SMTP Server, however GroupWare does not receive e-mail without SMTP Service.

So, GroupWare send/receive email with original format not Internet mail format.

ALSO : I don't know if your trying to scan to email, HDD or ftp but it would be a good idea to check this manual if you have it. It has step by step information.

Scanner Mode for Pi7200e.pdf or your paper manual section for scanning.

Scan to HDD (TCP/IP Network)

This function saves data scanned by the copier onto the hard disk drive of the

Pi7200e. The data is then taken using the Web browser (WebTools) on the PC or the Fiery Remote Scan (TWAIN).
Web Tools is found in the browser via the copiers IP address.

Scan to FTP (TCP/IP Network)

• Transmits scanned document to the FTP server.

• Suitable for sending high-resolution data.

• Environment of Network with FTP server is necessary.
• Settings such as the account must be set for the FTP server in advance.

Scan to E-Mail (TCP/IP Network)

• Transmits scanned document as attached file with E-Mail.

• Suitable for sending low-resolution data.

• Environment of Network with Mail server is necessary.
• Settings such as the account must be set for the Mail server in advance.

Thank you for your reply, We are only scanning to an FTP file. We only have the users manual, can't find the service manual. We figured a good I.T. guy could figure it out. We have the FTP file and I.P. address set in the copier and the server. I would be willing to pay for some phone support if anyone can help.
Thanks KK

Can you access the ip address from your browser ?
AND - when you ftp' the scans - are you sending them to soneone's email or are you just trying to scan to your computer or a folder on the computer?
Are you using the PCL6 print controller Driver ?
Is your print controller set to DCHP or do you have it on a static address?
ALSo - If your on a static IP, did you go change your network settings in the Key Operator mode under sysyem inital settings. Input your ip address, subnet, and gateway and other networking settings.

ALSO check to make sure FIRST that scan to ftp function is turned on and that the file form that you want to use is set up - tiff or pdf
Key operator mode - 13 Memory switch setting

PM Me when you have read this and I will see what I can do to help you.
HERE is more info for you

TO PRINT THE CONFIGURATION PAGE

1. Make sure the information screen on the Control Panel reads Idle.

If Printing or RIPping appears, the Fiery X3e is processing, and you must wait until the

system finishes and reaches the Idle state.

2. Press the Copier Mode button on the Control Panel until Print is selected.

3. In the Touch Panel, press the Menu/Esc button.
4. Select Print Pages.

5. Choose Configuration.
If you can get to the copiers ip through the browser:

Configure the following network services: via WEB TOOLS ( ip address of the copier)

• LPD Printing (TCP/IP)—enable or disable LPD print services.

• NetWare Printing (PServer)—specify NDS and Bindery services (see page 5-16).
• Windows Print Sharing (SMB)—enable or disable SMB print services.
• HTTP Support (WWW)—enable or disable support for WebTools.
• Port 9100—enable or disable support for Port 9100 printing.
• FTP Service—enable or disable FTP Service.

• E-mail Service—specify the Fiery E-mail Service.

Tammy, Thanks again for helping. I am going to print out everything you have suggested and show it to the I.T. guy.
As far as I know all we are tring to do is scan to an ftp file in the server.
I will get back in touch when I have talked to the I.T.

Tammy, shazam we figured it out. We belived the web brouser and the wholesaler that said "scan installed". Well when we pulled the back cover off there was no scan option installed. We installed one and it works fine. Thanks again
