If the mag roller has a black film adhered to it then you may also need to clean out the entire toner recovery to remove all contaminated toner. These models are highly susceptible to developer/toner contamination. Use of anything other than Genuine Ricoh toner and developer is highly discouraged. Here is the Ricoh-USA bulletin on the problem. 47593

Ricoh instructors recommended i clean the mag roller with folded up paper. i personally would use a scotch brite and lightly scuff until the black was all gone. just be aware that everytime you do this, it will contaminate a little faster each time.

Just be aware, scotch brite pad can damage the mag roller.

Don't use folded paper, use a piece of paper wadded up and crumpled into a ball to give you irregular ends and crevices. I've been using this to clean mag rollers for years. It's hard enough to remove any developer deposits, but soft enough to keep the coating on the rollers.
