Hello,
I have a lot of toners for a Bizub C360. However, I no longer have the printer. Now it's a C364.
Can I transfer the toner to the cartridge for C364?
How does the level indicator work?

Thanks

it goes by the chip on the bottle, not the volume of contents.
sorry i cannot help the other question, in the 22+ years working on copiers i have never needed or wanted to try toner not specifically made for that model.
in fact, i've walked off a job when the owners of the company were ok with doing that.

I just use toner for C8000 in both C360 and C364 models and never had a trouble.
The chip is fot the indication of amount. You can use the same chip, it will indicate zero but it lets you print (unless the bottle gets empty and then you'll have to replace the chip).
Good Luck!

The toner level bar graph gets reset after a toner empty condition is reached and the front door is opened. The chip on the C364e toner only tells the machine that the toner bottle is present, it does not have a counter on it.

Only K will be the same the colors will not replenish the developer and your dev tanks will fail way before yield.

In fact the dev tank yield will be the same as for a C360 on your C364.

Both C360 in a C364 machines don't have chips on toner cartridges. And as allan said you need to control amount of CMY developers very closely because there isn't developer in color toners for C360.

That would be ouch if he makes a lot of color copies. CMY developer units life 4 times shorter than expected.

Ninja move will be to get generic CMY developers and adding small amounts to the toners. A table spoon on a bottle should do the trick.
Excess dev should be discarded into the waste box...

okay, then it's not as easy as I thought.
I think I'll test a color and then let's see.

Thanks for your help

Then what is this?

Then what is this?

TN512 chip? C454, C554.

TN321 does not have a chip.

Chip is nothing but a fuse. Only for new article detection and resting the bars.

Believe there is a SW to fool the machine.

I take the TN512 chip off for the 364 machines and cut the fins to make it fit.
Then use the fuse from the chip to reset the drums and devtanks:rolleyes:.

TN512 cheaper than TN321.

There are no chips on these toners. It would probably work since drums, developer powder & blades are the same (not the complete units just aftermarket drums, blades & dev powder)

I wouldn't attempt on a customers machine but if your machine or a machine in shop give it a try. I have swapped toners a few times from one model to another in a pinch with no problems.

Problem i have with rebuilding these would be that the charge unit corrodes before you can get max value.

I have the TN-319 toner.
I would need the TN-321.

It's my printer. So i will Test ;-)

Ok so the quick answer is yes.

However you will need to 'decant' the C360 toner into your C364 bottles.

Been rebuilding the drum units with new drum, blade, sawtooth, grids & chips for over 2 years now with great success! Only had 2 fail out of hundreds because of blade flip which was my fault. I used setting powder instead of yellow toner which is the best lube for drum & transfer belt blades.

This is why you see 2nd transfer rollers are yellow in new machines. Factory uses yellow toner to lube everything. Not sure what's in yellow toner that is different but if factory uses it, it's good enough for me!

I dont understand, some guys here claims toner bottle have chips and others, it does not.
In my case i never see chip on TN321 bottles.
TN324 have chips.
Maybe different regions is reason for this or something else?

No they don't have chips on the toners.

You can actually run the machine with all the toners removed the machine won't prompt you to install them.

It will only ask you to add toner when the TNR % in the hopper drops.

Katun has C258 compatible toner with C454e. I have original TN-512 and my question would be if anyone has tried putting the original TN-512 in a C258. I have not C454e and have a lot of this toner ,both bottles have chip.If not I try . Thanks
