Hi All,

I am new to this group. I need some help from this group expertises.
I don't remember what I did when trying to customize the banner printing to the bypass tray and now I can't print to TRay 2 (8.5" x 11").
I have to use the bypass tray to print to 8.5" x 11"
Please help me to get back to normal where I can print to tray 2.
Here is what see on the screen:

How can I assign the 8.5" x 11" back to tray 2?

Thanks in advance.

Lets start out easy. Paper size in the regular trays is auto detected using sensors inside the copier and is based on the position of the paper guides in the trays. Start by putting the letter paper in the tray with all 3 guides against the paper. If all is working correctly it should read 8.5x11. If that doesn't work, the next step would be to remove the tray and check to see if there might be some paper behind the tray interfering with the size sensors. There is a screwed in metal catch on the left side pillar that prevents the tray's removal. Remove the screw and catch then remove the tray. It may still require a little finagling to get it out. Remove anything that might be back there and reinstall the tray and catch.

If that doesn't work, let us know and we'll try to further diagnose.

Thanks femaster for a quick help.
I could not remove the tray because there is another screw and catch on the right as shown on photo. And I see there are two other screws on the right as well.

I don't see any thing blocking the sensor in the tray. But there is a difference after removing and put back the paper in tray 2: new error message "replenish paper" and the "8.5 x 11" on the bypass tray has gone.

Please tell me what to do next
thanks

Sometime the tray 2 is seen as for 8 x 13 inch with bypass 8.5 x 11

The tray is clean - nothing else except the 8.5 x 11 paper.

I did search youtube but found only the how to do this do that. Look like only me or I am the first one having this proplem.

Not inside the tray. Pull out the tray and look behind the tray.

There are two screws and catch on both side keeping the tray. I was able to remove only on the left side but not on the right side as shown on the below photo

YES, I removed the side and found a paper behind the tray. Everything is back to normal.
Thanks femaster and blackcat.

Glad you got it figured it out.

To be honest, I'm not even sure what I'm looking at in that picture with the 2 screws, it doesn't look familiar to me. Possibly the bypass tray mount?

Not sure what you have circled on top but the bottom circled screw is one of four screws that holds the machine to the cabinet it's setting on.

The circle on top is another screw but photo is dark.

Thanks. Now that the picture it's pulled back a bit, I can clearly see that now. What threw me off was the long screw that goes to the white glide roller for the tray. I didn't remember ever seeing that before, but then again, unless you are actually looking for it, sometimes things don't stick in memory.

I couldn't pull the tray out so I removed the left side and took out the paper behind the tray!
Thanks again femaster.

I don't think so. Like srvctec said it holds desk and mainbody together.
