I have a new C300i install with intermittent jam codes 1102 and 1105 from tray 1. Everything related passed the load check. I replaced the whole feed section and it seemed ok temporarily. Any ideas what to try?

I assume you have done the basics, like trying a new pack of paper, updating the firmware etc.

If its a brand new machine pass it back to KM under warranty.

I have another complete registration unit to try. It happens intermittently so it's a little difficult to diagnose. If that doesn't work i will try the paper feed roller fast clutch and then finally the base board.

Sometimes it doesn't leave the tray, other times it does so no specific place. one or 2 prints seem to be fine it's multiple prints where the issue starts.

I guess then that will rull out entire registration section. After you replaced whole feed unit does it work?

So you say it works just fine with another feeder unit?

it seemed to initially but the customer called back a week later and said it's happening again.

It seemed as though it did for a week or so, must have been a coincedence.

make sure its not the cassette itself - i have seen straight out of the box from new damage to the very top edge of the mylar at the rhs of the cassette. Not even visible to the eye but can be felt by the finger nail, and sufficient enough to trap the top sheet feeding out the tray.

I've also seen mylars installed crookedly by 1-2mm on the feed unit guides straight out of the factory causing jams too. (tray 2 jams)

The problem was the fast clutch (cl10). It's behind the base board. Once replaced and tested it worked fine.

It wasn't that bad, the hardest part is just opening up the baseboard box, I'd say start to finish it took 45 min.

I wanna ask, what's the function of this fast clutch?

I never really read what it's function is other then helping transport the paper but's only related to tray one and the bypass I do believe.

I just received my clutches from km there probaly isnt a procedure in the book I assume? I wish I had another machine in the office to try on first so I don't look like a dork in the customer office.. lol I need to get it on the schedule and get it replaced.. you need to remove the base board is that right?

thanks brent

There is a procedure for that particular clutch in the manual. you have to open the "box" not remove the board itself.

If you read the other posts in this thread you might conclude that CL10 did fix the issue. =^..^=

Not seeing anyone else mention it
We've had all our i series come with the Fusing speed maxed on delivery. Dropping it from +7 to 0 stopped intermittent jams from T1 and T2

Good advice although in case of 11-02 jam paper should stop before fuser so fusing speed doesn't matter.
