I changed a set of IUs in a C759

One was clipped in properly and gave a C2255 error. I reseated and all was ok how ever IU life did not reset

The install and yeild prediction date are the same and match the date of install yesterday.

Any ideas on how to get around this?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210317/7c564a864632c4b1c75fdd4d0aa3d9a6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210317/998e238066876b0156fbd6f7393e5bfd.jpg

I would say that when the machine threw the error it corrupted the count.

But this is no big deal, put a label on the drum with the current counter.

As mentioned above you could try updating the firmware & function version.

Details of Each Function-New Release Disable mode
• To enable a unit that is temporarily used for troubleshooting or other purposes to be used again as a new unit in another machine, New
Release Disable mode is provided.
• Applicable units are the following that have the new unit detection feature.
Imaging unit/Y, M, C, Drum unit/K, Developing unit/K
(a) Procedure
1. Open the lower front door.
2. Touch [Service Mode] -> [Enhanced Security] -> [Engine FW DipSW].
3. Touch [3] and check the key is highlighted (ON state) in reverse video.
4. Touch [OK].
5. Close the lower front door.
By closing the lower front door, the New Release Disable mode takes effect.

Good idea byronf. Maybe previous engineer activated New Release Disable mode and left the machine.

It doesn't last indefinitely. It reverts back to normal mode fairly quickly.

Yeah it wasn't that. I just installed a new drum on same copier and counts for that reset. IUs still incorrect

As far as I know, there would be no reason why a new Drum Unit would not reset its respective life settings. UNLESS you were using generic, non-OEM units whose chips did not jive with the machine, for whatever reason. And remember, although you may have new units in there, the machine will still think the units are old and still try to adjust CQ accordingly. If they were OEM units, I would also double check that the chip(s) are not bent down and not contacting the frame for whatever reason.

So it's affecting only CMY IUs on both machines. What did you say about FW versions?
