Hi everyone. I have a customer with a Bizhub 458 with a LCT large capacity tray 3. Every time the machine feeds out of tray 3 we either get a wrong paper size error or jam 99-01. We ended up swapping the LCT but its still doing the same exact thing.

Any help will be appreciated.

This is from machine setup?

There should be a paper size option for lct in service mode. Or sticky/dirty sensor perhaps.

This is a used machine at the customers office. Paper path is clean. Sensors have been checked.

If this is the LCT that sits under the machine check the yellow paper separator guide and be sure it moves freely

Be sure that the marketing area is set correctly, the size setting of the LCT is correct LT for US markets. Firmware and funtion version are up to date and softswitch 10 is set correctly. This is the basics..where does the paper stop when it jams, any unusual noise or grinding as the paper attempts to push into the main feed area? Can you get an internal test print (gui, config page ect) to print. How many copies on the system. I assume bypass tray works as well, and if you've replaced the LCT the issue must be confined to the area where paper moves fout of the LCT and into the main feed path. Any kicks on the lead edge? We have been troubleshooting this 9901 code since the e series..E

If I cheat the door it comes.out of the lct just fine but then obviously jam due to the door being open.

At the back of the tray between the two stacks of paper there is a yellow actuator. It needs to be free to move once the paper is loaded. That means there has to be a gap between the two stacks of paper.

Sounds like a killer second hand machine with this counter. Function version should be setup correctly according FW version but LCT problem isn't related. Initialize it from Service mode to start fresh.

Another thing with these trays is the spring clutch that is on the transport rollers. With the LCT door open the gray transport rollers should turn freely when you roll them upwards and lock when you roll them downwards. If not, there is a spacer that can be installed to fix it.

I had not seen that post but I did check both belts for tray 1 and 2, and the lct was swapped.

Thank you

Right side door has 3 hooks which clicks behind plastic so that the door is pressed tighly to the main body. Hooks on door are fine. Check the right front bottom cover (lower right front side of the main body) and its two bulges (where the hooks click). There is a screw through each bulge.
Sorry, couldn't upload a picture from phone (don't know why).

Yep, JPG cca 2MB. I will scale down the pictire on PC and post it. This broken piece could be also a reason for J20-02 when paper is pulled out from 2nd drawer.

Another option which I use because the uploaded pics here are always so ridiculously small with a max size of 620x280, just upload to hosting service like imgur and put the link here. Been doing it that way for years and it keeps the file size intact so it's easily viewable.

Ha! I stand corrected. I was looking at JPEG, not JPG, thinking they'd be the same. :o
