updating c458 firmware [Archive]

Gentlemen

I have a C458 that has operation panel unresponsive soft keys after main switch is powered on. The bulletin says to install GC2-V1 or newer. I've never installed firmware on this model. I have the service manual. I'm going to update my shop machine first. If I read the bulletin correctly. I have to change the switch 25 hex assignment B0 for function version 4.2. Anything else I need to be on the lookout for?

You need to set the function version for that firmware which is stated in its release notes. Function Ver 4.2 is for the latest firmware which is currently GC1-X8.

Other than that, there is nothing else to be aware of.
