This applies to the FS608 (c650) the FS535 (for c654 ... if recall model correctly).

So basically the sensor for the output tray paper full is being tripped prematurely and seems to be random.
If I tap it or bang on the side of any of the finishers, the tray comes back up (after I trip the paper all over the floor).

Anyone have a hack for this?
I was thinking about smashing a lead fishing weight into a no so-obvious-shape and taping or gluing it onto a finger out of sight.

It only needs to move down a blonde one to activate.

I can take pictures if I am not being clear enough

This sensor is pretty easy to get to..and a short 3 wire harness. I have seen the wires break internally, and excessive dust blocking photo interrupter, but never had this go bad. It would be very cheap just to change out the sensor and harness..If it thinks it's blocked the tray will drop down. E

On finishers I have had this happen on, I just had to put a drop of Tri-Flow on the actuator pivot points since it was ever-so-slightly sticking.

Wait a second (my CRS was on attack for a moment), I think that worked for a while but started messing up again. I eventually bent a paperclip into shape and drilled a tiny hole to accommodate it and basically used it as a weight to pull it back in home position. I think. Damn CRS.

I was going through some old pics and came across the mod I did to make it work. I drilled a hole in the lever and then inserted a straightened large paper clip and bent it to make the weight. Never had the problem again on that machine (was a bh600 with a similarly designed finisher).
