We have multiple machines at a customer that have AU-201h readers on them and they run papercut. Added 5 more machines but can't find any more AU-201h readers so we went with the AU-205h readers. I can browse the AU-205h to my computer and change settings at the 192.168.63.99 but I had to disable Keyboard Wedge to get the machines to see the reader otherwise it gave an error that no authentication device could be found. So we put these readers on the 454e machines and everything seems to work but when they try to use their existing cards, the light flashes but nothing happens.

I have a 201h & 205h at the office so I authenticated a card on the 201h, then swapped the reader on the mfp to the 205h and when I try to use that card I get the "Authentication Failure" error.

I tried setting the HID Prox to DEC of 5, 20 or hex 20 with the prestrokes: PROX and the poststroke: END then added the character: f to the padding. with no luck.

Does anyone have a config file or know the correct settings to make the 205h act as a 201h?

Did some checking and according to Arc Services Company the AU-205H has been discontinued but the U-201H is still available.

Yeah, common problem and sales screws this up on a routine basis, which leaves it to service to fix...

The old AU-201s are CCID. The AU205 can be either CCID or Keyboard wedge, but the CCID output is different then the AU 201H..so they offer a LDD that will emulate the AU-201 in certain environments. This was accomodated for when dealing with Equitrac specifically, but I believe it might work with any combo of AU201/205s for most of the newer devices. What you looking for is the CCID Mimic LDD files for your model. You would put the AU-205h in CCID mode (the 2nd gen comes in KBW) then add the Mimic LDD. E

I see the CCID Mimic files but unfortunately don't see one for 4 series machines. We were able to find 3 more 201h's in the warehouse and for some reason I see tons on ebay that I didn't see earlier.

This is because the CCID mimic file was only built for machines that were no longer able to support the AU-201H..The e series worked with both the AH-205 and 201..The fact that you can't find AU-201Hs for these older machines is due to production was stopped on them. The AH-201H was supported up through the C368..anything newer than that would get the AU-205 and mimic file. I have about 50 of these AU-201Hs sitting in the KM room of antiquity (storage closet)
