I have a big problem with customers calling for toner to be delivered ASAP because of the of the toner quantity bars on the display screen on Konica Minolta Bizhub models 4 series, 8 series ect. Customers calling when the bar is at 1/4 full screaming they need toner right away. 95% of our customers their maintenance includes the toner so we don't want the customer to replace the toner too soon and waste the toner. We don't send the customer their new toner unless the copier has the message (toner (K) is low. Replace when necessary.) Those toner quantity bars are confusing the customers and I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a software switch that can shut the bars indicating toner lever (OFF). Thanks.

Turn the ‘low toner’ warning message off in CE mode this way they won’t replace the toners unless they get the ‘toner empty’ message.

Ensure they have a spare set & tell them to order a replacement once they have used a spare one.

This won't hide toner bars as OP asked. But is a kind of good workaround I use on contract customers.

That's just it. We don't want the customer to have a onhand toner for every color. That would cost us too much in inventory. Like I said we want to send the customer their replacement toner when the copier gives the first message that the toner is low. I want to turn off the toner quantity bars off if possible.

When I deliver machine I tell my customers toner gauges are inaccurate and to disregard. I tell them that machine will give warning when toner low and that is only when to call for toner. I may leave a spare black for my contract customers but never colors. If necessary I will tell a little lie that toners go bad sitting and that I rotate toners so when customers call they are getting fresh toner. This usually gets them off my back about having spare toners on hand at all times.

What I see a lot is customer calls and says machine stop working and calling for toner. I asked them didn't you see the low toner message and they say no warning ever came up.

Customers are lazy and glaringly dumb. 25% left means nothing to them as they have no idea how long that 25 % will last. Is it 2 days? is it 2 months? Turning off the early warning systems only ensures that when they are actually out they will have no clue and be down until you overnight the toner they need. I think it's more about teaching them good behaviors..We try to shoot for a 4 month supply on hand at all times, and I have no issues with wanting a replacement set on the shelf, but I have a tone of tools at my disposal to see if they are just hoarding, and that is unacceptable to me. My biggest headaches are the customers that have a fleet and want to stock all their supplies in the storage closet. I have no idea where the toner is going and it makes it difficult to ensure they really have what they need. I usually just watch the toner cost for any particular customer, If it starts to go above a certain threshold, then alarms go off. There are customers that steal from us, and re sell or use in non contracted machines..It's pretty easy to spot and a conversation that starts..you guys have 50K on your device, but I've sent you enough toner to run 300K..I will have the tech stop by to collect any additional you may have over ordered. If he can't bring any back we have a problem. E

So I guess the answer to my question in No. There is no way to turn off the toner indicator bars on the display screen. Thanks for everybody's help and comments.

So if you sent them 30 black toners over contract but life count shows on 20 replacements and they only have 1 spare on shelf you know 9 went on eBay

I would never leave a lot of toner with my customers. Let customer know you have setup remote care and you will be notified automatically when toners are low. You will ship immediately as needed and customer will never be down.

Do not discount bad employees or even the after hours cleaning crews stealing the toner and selling on ebay! My machine wholesaler told me even the truckers that pick up the off lease machines are taking the toners and selling on the side! He use to get a lot of toner with the machines but very little now.
