Hello everyone,

is it possible to refill the konica minolta c554e cartridges with toner specific for press machines like the 1070 or 3070 ( this one specifically Konica Minolta TN619 Toner Set for bizhub PRESS C1060 C1070 Part Number: TN619 4-Pack (https://arcservicesco.com/konica-minolta-tn619-toner-set-for-bizhub-press-c1060-c0170) ), would I face any problems if I did that ?

I want to do that as it can be a lot cheaper than buying the genuine toner specific for the c554e machine.

As far as I know they do not sell bulk toner powder.

If I emptied genuine toner cartridges specific for the c3070 in the c554e cartridges, would that cause any problems ?

Is the toner material the same for both machines?

I had issues with refilled/ aftermarket toners. You might save some money on the toner, but drums are expensive if messed up with non original toner, learned that the hard way....

Would those problems still happen even if I refilled with genuine toner specified for a konica machine other than the one I have ?

Some of the toner is same, for instance all the 4 series is same. I wouldn't use a different series toner. Like the other poster said why ruin the drums with wrong toner. Forget about the drums, what about contaminating the developer units with wrong toner, dev units cost $500+ each!

Got your point, would be interested to hear what others say or if anyone tried this

Thank you so much sir

The very fact that there are 100 different toner bottles out there for the current fleet of machines drives me f'ing nuts..One bottle to rule them all!!!..Of course, production and KM branded devices are going to be different, and I understand the corporate level need to keep out knock off supplies as this affects their bottom line. IMHO if you are having to resort to filling up toner with the left overs from other devices you are probably not going to last much longer. E

The Materials Safety Data Sheets shows that the toner composition is not the same.
TN619 contains organic pigment and there are too many differences.
Here compare the MSDS for yourself.

I always check this first before using other toner. But does not mean that it will not work.

I see, since there are differences I don't think it's worth it to risk damaging the drum units or the developer units

Thank you so much

We are using BH Press C8000 toner (TN615) in 4 series machines and other BH models.

At the very least, I would expect this to cause fusing issues since the different composition of the toner can have different fusing temperatures.

We are using BH Press C8000 toner (TN615) in 4 series machines and other BH models. Here in Brazil they adopted this C8000 toner. Developers are gone very quickly.

I am using for a while TN622 It is giving a good color quality but I have seen a slightly yellowish background on plain paper on one machine.
The original toner for C554e has developer inside compared with TN622.
Any suggestion?
