Hello,

Probably since driver update and for unknown reason, we are no more able to select duplex option on Mac OS. (11.5)
The printer print "duplex" on 2 side by default.

Is there any option in admin mode ?
Or by design there is a limitation on Mac OS driver?

regards,

CUPS is where you fix that.

TY, will give a try. Does it allow to print 1 side or 2 sides?

Meanwhile, I've download the driver and found the file "IT6PSMACOS_223AMU.txt" in the package. It seems there is some severe limitations on Mac OS.

the CUPS is like windows printer preference defaults. you specify single side by default and the driver allows either simplex or duplex.

Sounds great.

Anybody to feed back to Konica - Minolta that's so strange it does not manage duplex by default on Mac OS ? :)

Every copier after the 3 series has duplex by default written in the driver. It's part of the "green" initiative to save paper.
While in CUPS click on the printer and set the default option to 1 sided and you should have the choice in layout or finishing.

Okay. Now I understand.

But this printer let the fan turning (with noise) even in sleep mode (I measured 9W). Some kind of contradiction.

Anyway I will try this setup. Thanks again.

Update :

I've succeed to print one side (recto). Thats fine.

But I can't even select 2 sided print.
This option is always not available.

is there a simple way to decide either to print 1 sided or 2 sided using a Mac?

I can't understand what is going on

it depends on the application i think. i ALWAYS use the printer properties box and not the application to set my options.
ive found when both the app and printer properties say duplex, they cancel each other out.

That's what I thought at first.

But as soon I select the Ricoh, 2 sided is deactivated. No problem using Ricoh IM C3000. This allow to print 1 sided or 2 sided.

Seems there is a limitation by the driver. Shame on Ricoh.
