reset HDD lock password

It can't be removed as that would defeat the object in having a password!

You can also reformat the hard drive. This seems to take care of that message.:)

yuppers!
as soon as you log in as admin you have only 2 choices on the screen. input password or format. you cant access anything else until you do one of those.
i should have mentioned that in my earlier post about formatting.
thanks DJ!

In today's security conscience world, why are so many DUMBASSES still giving out the admin passwords..I'm 100% Ok with helping another tech, but how in the world do you know what this guy intends to do with this info? Probably nothing, but who knows..E

if not here they would find it on google.
Plus that's not even a real password, it's just 0-9 twice.

if not here they would find it on google.Very possible, but why be part of the problem, when you can be part of the solution?

SM and ADMIN Passwords SHOULD NOT be shared in public.

thanks Phil, i used to be a stickler for things like that back in the smarka days, ive since grown tired of the fight and realized im fighting a losing battle especially with all the youtube videos out there so i gave up.
yes i agree it should be frowned upon, in this case 0-9 twice is a guess, the hdd lock password is whatever it was set to by the installer and is not "always" 0-9 which is why i was flippant.

This is why some technicians change passwords
