Hi people,

I hope you can advise me on a rather tricky case. A SD501 attached to an Océ CS650 (KoMi C6500) has decided not to transport the booklets down into the trimmer anymore. Jam code J-7577, which is the sensor PS14 marked in yellow:

The motor is working, in fact the start-up tests don't return any fault codes and it all looks normal. Once a folded booklet has been stapled and flipped over to the postion in the picture above, it should be driven down into the trimmer, but it just stops here.

We have replaced the related sensors, the motor that transports the booklet down the slope, and both the control boards on the rear side of the machine. No ICPs are blown, and no combination of firmware versions produces any good results.

The parts from the non-working finisher were tested in another one, and they all seem to work fine.

Please help me! We are nearing the stage where we start replacing the chassis itself ;-)

Well, I will be sure to let you all know when I find the fault :-)

Ha, ha!!! A broken wire. I am not sure how it came to be so broken, but re-connecting it solved the problem. I tracked it to the photo sensor that recieves the booklet as it comes down the chute. I don't know why the machine didn't return a permanent error code.

Here's 2000 words worth of pictures:
