How to change the battery on the MFPB board without junk? Can the battery be removed after disconnecting the SSD? Thans advanced.

It's been suggested somewhere on this site before to solder a new battery in parallel with the old one first, then cut the old battery out of the circuit.

This is a good strategy to avoid wiping out the memory.

Yes absolutely bypass the old battery with a new one before cutting it off so the MFP board is provided with battery voltage at all time. Are you perform this as a precaution?

Yes, for batteries with 3 or less volts voltage.

Good thinking - we also have a look if the MFP is considered not to be swapped in a foreseeable timespan.
There's a lot of refurbished Cxx4e out there, it's important to check them because we weren't aware about this at the time of refurb&reselling.

It would be interested to know from which memory the data is lost, because the SSD and memory board/1 can be safely unplugged. After all, it is a PC motherboard.
