This is driving me NUTS

I have a C227 that I cannot get to scan using office 365 account, things I've tried

Updated firmware
SMTP authentication using a known account
Connector
Direct Send
Ports 25 and 587 and also no SSL/TLS
With a Certificate
Without a Certificate

I checked these setting using Telnet and all connected how they should.

I have a C227 in our workshop which I setup using the connector settings and it worked first time. So I backed up that device settings and installed onto the problem machine but still same issue.

After no success with the above accounts I tried using a Gmail account which does work (port25).

The customer doesn't want to use the Gmail account, they want to use the O365 account so this is not an option at this point.

If anyone could help it would be greatfully received

Sounds you covered almost everything. At this point I will try to initialize network settings data [System 1] -> [Initialization] at first and after that maybe even clear all data.
What is the error code?

Yep tried initializing the network settings aswell.

Depending on what port 25 or 587 I got different errors which were either 535 and 435
which I think both point to authentication issues which is obviously odd with the connector as there is no authentication.

On other KM's you have to edit some Bit SW in order to allow a higher TLS standard - not shure if it's the same with the c227 though.
I think there's more information about this in other threads regarding o365 + KM.

I've also seen some O365 accounts with 2 factor authentification enabled - that's not cool for scan-to-mail^^
I think you can check this if you test the account with O365 web log in.

Office 365 settings...

Hostname: smtp.office365.com
 Use SSL/TLS: Start TLS
 Port Number: 587
 User ID: Must be a valid Office365 email address
 Password: Must be the password for the above email address

Selfsigned SSL Cert 256/2048
Correct time and date

Assuming your network settings are correct and the machine supports TLS this should be all you need to get office 365 working. Also, what do you mean when you say "connector" are you using an app to scan to O365?

Hi emujo,

The connector is used if the customer has a static Ip address so they can send without authentication.
The connector is setup in the admin settings on the exchange part in Office 365.
