The machine's cooling fan has stopped working. it reads an error on the lcd screen stating this, the machine will still print however one of the end users complained of a burning smell. is this just a simple as replacing the fan or are there other things i need to look at? if any one could help me out with a part supplier on this machine that would be appreciated.

thanks

george

Most fans are there for a reason...replace it before something overheats. Especially since electronics are the first things fans are meant to keep cool and they are more expensive.

Didja ever notice that muffin fans mounted vertical always last longer than fans mounted diagonal or flat? Like the engine fan mounted diagonally on the top of an HP CLJ4600 or a bed fan..... =^..^=

PartsNow has always been good to me 800-886-6688. My sales person is John x1237, but I don't know how they assign accounts...

Just replace the fan with a passive (without fan) heat sink (bigger is better). It will solve your problem since the CPU is ARM (not Pentium ...).

Replacement fan is pt. no. 0040X0410. In the UK it is around £50. I asked Cypower to ship one as they had it on sale for only $25 but they wanted another $65 to ship it when it only weighs 50gr.

I guess you didn't notice that the original post was in 2009.

Of course I noticed the original post was in 2009. However, the fan was only available in USA from Cypower in 2009. I am letting people know NOW that the fan is available in the UK now from a variety of places at between £42 and £50. I have just purchased one from Misco at £46.99.
