Are there any bulletins or other information from KM about how much developer is added to the respective colors for the BH-C-284e/364e series?

Thanks

Hans

Not to my knowledge Hans but I know it's limited, maybe other members can shed some light.
Anyway my guess would be 5-10%

Thanks for that info Hans.
Maybe they empty toner on a table and with strong magnet pull developer and measure the rest very easy and should be pretty accurate 😜

Are you planning to spike your refilled toner cartridges? Not a bad idea.

Just out of curiosity, is that 10% by volume or 10% by weight? Developer is quite a bit more dense than toner. My guess is based on gram weight. =^..^=

:D :D LOL

That's more or less what I did. Out of curiosity I wanted to compare between colored toner from the C280 and C284e series. I put some yellow toner from both types on a sheet of paper and held a magnet under it. Very funny to see the grey developer particles creep in one direction inside the yellow xx4 toner.

Cat, the chart shows the percentage and also the weight of that amount in grams just under it. Developer/carrier is only in the K toner of the C280/360 but in all the other toners of the following generations.

Never knew btw that the old generation K toner contains 10%/80gr developer too. I was remotely aware that the new generations have carrier in all colors but never knew in varying amounts and again less than the older K toner. Would love to know whats behind it.

Back 30+ years ago it was common practice to spike the developer periodically, for example 1/2 Mita Scoop of developer added to the toner (as needed), back when it was an open toner hopper. It was especially important when the expected yield was 20K prints. Now we've got Konica Minolta developer rated at 1.2M prints, so it's not quite as important, and maybe that's why it can get to 1.2M. I would expect a linear consumption rate.

Some of the Toshiba console machines do not have developer PM counters, just monitor toner density, and when the toner density varies too far outside a standard range you get a "Replace ... " message. Everything considered, I like that better than a count or page based yield. It accommodates the wide variation in image fill, variation in monochrome/color usage, variation in pages per run ... all of which affect developer life. =^..^=

So it is pretty much the same all are 10% which for regular office machine tube weighting arround 500gr is about 50gr developer.
Btw for C280 black toner there is some mistake because 80gr developer is not 10% of 540gr bottle.
