Hi
Just wondering if anyone has come across this :-

When the scan carraige initialises it makes a noise, which in turn throws up the error c9401 after a while, also when copying or scanning the image is out by 20mm on the leading edge

It's an Olivetti version and has been updated to the latest firmware etc.

I've had a couple of C250i range, where the scanner belt has "disintegrated", it's the same belt as the 4 series...i'd check that 1st - its the one that goes onto the motor p/no A161275600

Yeah same here, probably >20 cases with the i series - not shure if they put too much or less tension on it. IIRC a tech told me it was too much because he loosened the screw from the tension roller holder and it gave in a little (there's a spring as a reference force).

There was a service bulletin for the slower models about the scanner belt. It covered the C250i, C300i, and the C360i. Might not hurt to look at your C450i and see if something similar is going on.

thanks for this, certainly worth a look. I’ve taken the machine back for a workshop repair so I can spend a bit more time on it, I’ll let you know how I get on

Check PSKM_BT2013210EN on Infohub...there's been reports of a loose screw on the timing belt pulley, which can cause a 9401 error. this is the pulley that the belt is on
