Print out is wavy. Tried changing the paper and replaced the fusing unit for a new one.
Tried adjusting the temperature and the fusing speed.
Cleaned the rollers.
Replaced the fusing drive.
Replaced the exit and reverse section.
Still the papers come out wavy.
This happens on all format sizes.

Seems like this happens after the fusing unit.

Running out of options.

Is the reversal unit from 554e compatible with 454e?
I counted 22

yes the C554e is the same as a C454e

as i say make sure BOTH gears mentioned above have the exact amount of teeth.

on the C454 they do have a gear that has 22/27t so count the upper and lower teeth.

if you have a spare C454e or C554e reversal unit in i would just take the full unit and replace

EDIT: i have just checked the exit section gears and they are all the same for e and non e machines so would defiantly go with reversal section

Yup still the same problem. Is there a way to change the software settings for this?

What are the odds eh, if the units I am trying are all defective I did change the reversal unit. Trying the unit from 554e. Last option. I try an out of the box unit.

If you have the exit section out, don't forget to scuff the shaft for the one way gear before reinstalled

did you try running it without a finisher?

Have you replaced the fuser?

Well I tried newer one. Still does that wavy half of the paper.
Forgot to mention that when printing on both sides of the paper, the whole page is wrinkled or wavy.

I have only had 1 ever go bad, but what about the motor that drives the reverse unit?

Well I replace the reversal unit with another one from a 554e.

Can not find the issue with this.

It may sound silly but can you run it for a test without reverse section(I mean top section on right door)?

Caused a paper jam.
Still the fuser is causing the wavy page.

Is there any possibility if the frame is bent?

is the feed loop sensor damaged?

is the feed loop sensor damaged?

Ran the sensor check. Looking at the Paper exit in service mode. The fusing loops value remains at 0.

Can the cause the paper to be wrinkled/wavy?

Can the cause the paper to be wrinkled/wavy? yes registration clutch stays on until loop sensor is made. this issue is more prevalent in the 654/754 series but this unit shares same basic operation.

So there must be a synchronization issue with two units?

yes that is one of the functions of the loop sensor

ps2

It starts controlling when the front-edge of the paper reaches to the predetermined position before the fusing roller.
• The fusing speed is decelerated so that a loop is formed in the paper between the 2nd transfer roller and the fusing roller.
• When the paper loop amount is large, the fusing loop sensor is blocked, and the fusing speed is increased.
• When the paper loop amount is small, the fusing loop sensor is unblocked, and the fusing speed is decreased.
• The fusing speed is increased or decreased as necessary to make sure that the paper loop amount falls within a predetermined range,
thereby absorbing a difference between the fusing speed and image transfer speed.
• The fusing loop control will finish after the trailing of the paper passes the 2nd transfer roller

I did replace the whole unit. Does the same thing. If the wiring was the problem I would see trouble codes. If there were issues with the electronic boards, the machine would also give me errors too. So would it be a possibility that the frame is bent? or the Door is the problem?

Albonline

yes frame damage is a possible cause, ,so is door alignment.

Not sure if this would cause your wavy copies and you mentioned replacing exit section which would rule this out, however is it possible the box had a finisher in a previous life and the sensor unit attached the exit section for the relay unit was left behind when a finisher was removed. it installs so cleanly that it would look as if it has always been there.

Ok, Ill test it with the bridge and a finisher with it.

Lol, doing some start up on other machines at the moment. Will work on this machine later. Still does the wavy print out. I'll swap the door when I have a chance. Let you know the outcome.
