Hello everybody
I have to update the FW Sata on a Konica C285 for the D011 problem but I can't update.
1) I insert the key
2) I turn on the printer with the red button pressed
3) At the top right on the display the black dot appears
4) After about 30 seconds the printer starts in normal mode

Besides this these options in administration mode are not present
"When [Administrator Settings] -> [Security Settings] -> [USB Connection Permission Setting] -> [External Memory (Service)] -
> [FW Update] is set to "Restrict", A Message "It is limited by the Administrator." Will Signore, and Update of the Firmware
Cannot be executed.
▪ When [Administrator Settings] -> [Security Settings] -> [FW Update (USB) Perm. Sett.] Is set to "Password Priority", IT
Requires to Input A Password After Confirming with the Administrator "

The thing is definitely strange ... do you have any idea of how to solve? Thank you

I am attaching machines list

Are you leaving front door open when trying to update firmware? It has to stay open during F/W update

These are the typical problems to look for:

The USB memory is formatted in FAT32 format.
Use a memory device with no more than 32 GB of capacity.
Firmware is in the designated folder in the root directory of the USB memory. (C258 = FW0002)
Verify correct models firmware is being used.
USB memory plugged into USB port on side of control panel.
Confirm that the USB cable from front panel is plugged into the correct USB port (labeled "Front Panel") under the access panel in back right of machine.

Firmware is in the designated folder in the root directory of the USB memory. (C258 = FW0002) yes in another C258 always by the same customer works perfectly
Verify correct models firmware is being used. Yes it's correct
USB memory plugged into USB port on side of control panel. yes
Confirm that the USB cable from front panel is plugged into the correct USB port (labeled "Front Panel") under the access panel in back right of machine. I have to check this point well but if I try to print something from the USB port it works.

Which FW versions do you have and with what file(FW) you're trying to update?

Hello friend!
Use this program to format your flash drive
https://we.tl/t-SfcfFCIIz4
Because I already caught the case of using the same flash drive in the equipment update sequence and on the 3rd or 4th machine of the error with the same FW and not loading the firmware at startup.
Do the formatting and then follow the tips above the members who will succeed.
Good luck!
CAUSE: Incorrect placement of the front USB cable and/or incorrect procedure to load the firmware.
SOLUTION: Check the placement of the “Front USB” cable

Have you tried updating using FTP (filezilla), whenever i've had issues with USB's I used this instead.

Usually in the unzipped firmware file along with the FW00? and CW file.

OK thank you

Today I go to the customer and check the front panel cable. If I don't solve, I proceed with the FTP update

Take a couple for USB drives... Had it where it only worked after trying the 3 drive. Strange thing is the drives worked fine on other models but not on the 8 series. 8GB and bigger does work too.

Great that you got it fixed.

For future reference, KM is now recommending that you NOT USE Windows to format your USB sticks. I've had LOTS of trouble updating F/W on that series machine, for no
apparent reason, but this software seems to fix it.

They recommend a different program, which (I assume) formats it in DOS mode.

Its called HPUSBDISK and I believe you can get it on KM's support site, or just google it.
