Have a bizhub 283 in the field, it will not print envelopes in the bypass, it does not seem to be detecting envelopes when set in the bypass tray. I set the bypass tray manually to the envelope paper type and still will not print when the job is sent from the pc. Happening on multiple PC's when printing envelopes from word, checked the settings in word and the paper types match on the PC and the Konica. The customer stated he was able to take the envelopes out and reset them and it would start printing, that worked for a while and now it just errors out with type/size mismatch.

Try setting the paper type to plain paper with the size of the envelope,

If you are using the "envelopes" section of Word, you may as well give up. Word always sends the envelope job as "plain paper" type, and there is no way to change this. It doesn't matter what you set in the copier or in the print driver, you will always see the same error on the screen indicating invalid paper size or type, with the screen asking for "plain paper" to be inserted into the bypass. Set the bypass tray for plain paper and it should work, but the results will be less than ideal with the envelope most likely coming out wrinkled and the toner will most likely rub off of it.

if you create a printer called envelope, set the defaults (2 places) to envelope and bypass tray.
before they print envelopes they will have to switch default printers and switch back when done.
do not let windows manage your default printer, uncheck the box.
word does stupid stuff with anything other than plain paper, like everyone only prints on an inkjet right?

Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners > enable "Let Windows manage my default printer"
Launch a Microsoft Office app (say, Word), print a file to the desired printer, then close Word.
Disable "Let Windows manage my default printer"
Reopen Word and open the print dialog; the desired default printer should be automatically selected.
