I have a minolta di 470 and I was told that a pi 5501 would work in it. I know it is supposed to be used with a pr4700e. but I thought I would ask the forum here first before I tried such a thing. and if this will work what drivers would I use. thanks guy's

ok thanks for the information. so it was kind of confusing. do I need to do anything different for the controller type or peripheral mode if I am just trying to get the machine to print? again I am installing a pi 5501 onto a minolta di 470. thanks for your time.

The Pi5501 is not supported on the Di470; the Di470 supports the Pi5500 and the Pi4700e. The Pi5501 is compatible only with the Di450 and Di550.

this is why I asked this question. some of you say it will work. and some say it will not work. my supplier did tell me that it would work... I just would hate to have to purchase a 4700e when this 5501 I have would work
thanks for all your imput

I found a technical advice document from minolta number
TAUS0643066EN00 and it did state that the pi 5501 has not been tested and approved for use with the di 470. I am going to find a pi 4700e and do it the right way.

thanks again guy's

This may prevent a little confusion in the future

The attachment I provided to you a couple of days ago has PI5501 all over it about how to set the machine up, using the pi5501. It will work, I have been doing this for over 20 years and I am an ex M tech. that can tell you this will work. I have done it many many times.
