I'm new to the forum and it seems my other post hasn't been approved or just didn't go through so here I will explain again. Got myself a used C224, it has old firmware, isn't "regsistered" and I can't view any information about it from my pc via the online ip address way. It prints fine from mobile and pc but the mobile app somehow can't pair with the printer. I read something about Tokens before and was wondering where to acquire it and how to hook it up so it will be a "registered" printer and ofcourse where to even find the newest avaliable software for the C224 since the auto update option doesn't exist nor does the "browser". The Kind Lady from who I bought it from said she didn't get any tokens or any li else activating kits so she couldn't help me on that. I plan to set up a print server (from an older pc with W10(64 Bit)) and I would ofcourse like to get the registration and the ip address sorted prior to that if possible.

I hope you didn't spend to much money on this machine it has been obsolete since Dec.2020. Not sure why you cant reach the machine via the IP address you don't need any kind of token to reach it this way. If you have ever had a printer using the same IP address that this one is now using you could try clearing the cache on the web browser or try using a different web browser. As far as the mobile app make sure you have the latest Konica Minolta mobile app. The latest mobile app is called Konica Minolta mobile print. you don't need any token for any of this to work. You could try updating the firmware to the latest version but if you firmware is real old you need to step firmware up. I would only skip a couple and work my way up to the latest.

are you using HTTPS or HTTP to access PageScope

chances are it was not configured for SSL web interface

Answering few questions, I tried using Opera Web browser but it doesn't work on mobile either, I will download Chrome and see if it could work on it, I only paid €350 for it and a new set of toners and a waste box, only 52k prints in total, all drums need to be replaced by 2024 or 20255 so that might be costly. What I found funny regarding the mobile app is the fact it only sees it with auto configuration, manual inputting the IP Address gives the "printer not exists". I would prefer to configure it for HTTPS printing if that would be possible at all

If Serial Number etc are not set you cant access pagescope

For firmware update you only need a firmware and a USB

If functions like pagescope are not working, a common fix for the 224e / 284e / 364e is to install new firmware and moviedata.
Not too sure what you mean by "not registered" but if the machine does not have the serial number put in most stuff will not work (machine will tell you though)

It does have a serial number actually. What I mean by "not registered" is when you connect in mobile it should say "registered" in the lower left corner when you are on the "auto config" section in there. Does the app not prefer unregistered printers and hence why I can't connect it?

Go to Admin Mode on the MFP, make sure that und Network IP, Subnet and DNS is set. I also recall something that you needed to do in security settings but that is nearly out of my head...
maybe try to access it with both h (http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX)ttps://XYZ.XYZ.XYZ.XYZ and https://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX and chec if there are any out of date certificates installed

you would probably be just fine if you could find a Win 2000 or XP box to connect to it..Security features on today's browsers are gonna block these unsecure sites..I would

1. Go into service and do a network data clear, and a HDD logical format..This will set everything back to factory including deleting any installed SSL certs (the one you have had probably long past expired)
2. Back in Admin and if you are a DHCP environment, pull all fresh info, then set the IP to what you need.
3. With SSL removed and antiquated/expired certs gone try logging in with several browsers..Firefox with SSL/TLS requirements set to lowest level, or IE in compatibility mode. Hope this helps. E

I actually just changed the IP address and it worked, suprised myself tbh, its actually now saying on the printer screen "Operating remotely Please do not turn the power off" I was also able to log into admin mode on the remote screen. It asked me to set up SSL for "secure reason" but eh since its a printer thats only being used by myself then I guess it should be alr. I wonder if there will be qn option for the "web browser on the printer itself now.

The app now works too !, I also download Cameleon, its one of those browsers that has the bypass option so I managed to get back onto the website. So it does turn out that changing the IP can sometimes solve the issue aswell. BYW I tried uploading images on here and it gave up an error, is there a problem with the server here ? it keeps saying "upload of file failed", I wonder if my photo was either too big or smt like that 😂

Alright, have you any clue why the remote panel that looks thesame as the printers' main screen refuses to start?, this is the pretty much last thing I would like to see if its possible to work, I figured out I don't have any tokens for the web browser so at least I maybe could get this last thing sorted ? . I tried starting it through Utility>Remote Panel>"Can't start remote Panel", web version gives pretty much same wording with no error code. I changed the default port by 1 number in an attempt to try and hope it might be a bad port however she it still seems to not have helped. Any possible reasons why it doesn't want to kick in on both? (should look something like the pic below)

You need to create a SSL certificate for this:

1. Create a Self Signed Certificate in Security Settings
2. Under Network Settings, you need to set Remote Panel Settings for Server "On".
3. Visit the Remote Panel using this address: https://[device IP address]:50443/panel/top.html

I actually have all that done and its still not working, I made an ssl certificate however there isn't any version to tick the box like there should be. Underneath there should be 4 boxes that you can tick off and I don't have that.

yeah you will not see those choices on this old box..Remote panel needs the CE password enabled along with SSL and the remote panel sever settings ON..The web address will be
HTTPS://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:50443/panel/top.html. This is assuming the non e model supports this feature. I don't have one to look at so I can't verify. E

It definitely should work, I will check it out more tomorrow. There is a "remote access" option and even after pressing "start" it just gives the can't connect or something like that with no error code, same online, I will send pictures tomorrow, any clue why this is the case then?, if everything is set correctly lol

No need for that. But i am quite sure that you need to have the gateway and dns server to be configured.
However, you'Ve had just a few weird problems with the machine by now. Might be worth to update firmware and install new moviedata.

Not really, I am a Windows 11 insider (previously 10 aswell), work on repairing laptops, pcs, sometimes mobiles aswell. I usually stick with Pcs and Laptops for majority of the time. I plan to turn an older pc into a print server since why, I have 7 of the same brand Pcs with same specs. Short answer, no, I'm not an end user 😁

For future reference, Copytechnet limits attachment size to 1MB in the thread. Current cellphones produce much larger photos. You can do two things:
1) you can email the photo to yourself. The phone will offer you an option to send a Small, Medium, or Large file size. Small works best.
2) you can reduce the resolution on the phone camera. Since I post quite a lot of my photos here, it's just easier to produce smaller file sizes. I can't tell the difference in image quality until it's enlarged 800%, and you can't do that in Copytechnet.

Alrighty, good news is I managed to get that remote panel screen thing working. Worse thing is on Android it doesn't work, I'm wondering if my device is too new...even though they have added support for Android 13 (the printer might not have been configured for Android 9 which I'm on since its still on stock firmware), should I update the firmware by myself or give the MJ Flood a call since their name is also on the printer.

I think you have confused "remote panel"..

1. Remote panel server--allows connection through PSWC to display what the walk up user sees and allow remote operation of the LDC control panel ( this option will not be displayed if SSl and CE password are not enabled)
2. Remote panel client--This allows remote operation of the control panel from someone not on your local network, requires an app running to work with the machines (never seen it used)
3. page scope mobile remote panel-- similar to Remote panel server, but android based app. Requires phone to be on the same subnet as the machine. E

Well my phone is on the same sub-net as the printer. What baffles me is the fact the the Bizhub RA doesn't want to connect with my printer but my laptop connects fine from the online website. The Bizhub RA found the Printer automatically but never manages to add it, stating the please ensure printer is on the same network as my phone. I haven't tried it from the now discontinued pagescope mobile but if it works then I guess it could mean my phone it too new and the printers firmware isn't able to recognize it. I have an older Samsung tablet, I will try and see if the Bizhub RA works on that, if it does then maybe my C224 needs a firmware update.

We use this at work. Very handy. Apparently it can be launched via CSRC but we just host the remote panel server ourself so we cant use that

So it is supported but the app can't connect to it?. If I'm correct the C224 came out in 2013 I think, I don't know how many more versions of android were supported on the original stock V1 firmware. As I said, I will try the pagescope mobile and if that works from my phone then it just means bizhub RA wasn't yet supported by the stock firmware and that would make good bit of sense to me since when did the app originally come out...2020?. Pagescope mobile came out in 2013 so it makes logical sense for me now that only that app is supported, I'm sure the firmware updates added support for Bizhub RA along the way, I will check this stiff out today and if I need all the firmware updates I wil log to the "Firmware Update" Section on the forum.
