Just had a call from a collegue of mine who turned up this morning to do a PM on a C6500 as the machine is needed for first thing Monday

Unfortunately 4 C500 image drums had been sent instead of the type for the C6500. Everything else was done on the PM apart from fitting the drums as he was unsure if fitting the wrong type would cause machine damage or problems further down the line.

Is it possible to use C500 drums in a C6500? I know there are some differences but I didn't know the answer to his question as I have not been in this situation myself.

I am 100% sure the drum coupling which is moulded in the drum is different, That is what drives the drum. Also the drum housing is different. I don't think your drums will be changed today :-)

latest fix for blade flip in the 6500 is to fit the C500 blades with the small plastic holders from the C500 drum unit. all out of stock of course :(

hey I had drum blades flipping too on a 6500 with 2.4 prints . Went through 6 drums in 2 days. I replaced the blades and the fulcrums from the c500 drums and not a peep yet.
