Hello everyone

Can anyone help with the procedure for finding/ re-inputting the Scanner and MAC address numbers on a Konica Minolta Bizhub C300i please? These messages are displayed on screen.

(This is due to extensive work on the copier due to it locking up periodically and re-booting automatically, we believe when using scanning or print. We have replaced the SSD and PCUB boards (base board did not make any difference), but now we need to re-input above information.)

Any help appreciated

scanner serial is usually on a label under scanner skin and MAC address may be found on a label on or near the rj-45 connector on the board.

The MAC is printed on the config sheet and can be looked up by S/N on the KM website.

Maybe in USA but not everywhere.

To OP, I was under impression you cannot change SSD together with CPU board, how did you do it?

I would guess that is the reason for the chaos the OP is having right now. The idea of needing to input the MAC address in a new one to me. I've never even seen that message on the 4e-series after the backup battery goes flat dead and it asks for the serial number. Must be something new in the i-series?

If you change CPU board you need data to be copied from SSD board and when you change SSD board data is copied from CPU board.
For this reason you cannot change both at the same time.

When you change CPU board MAC address is different from original one and needs to be registered but I didn't find a way with described procedure with KM support and access to LMS server. Still an open ticket for me.

Customer gets white screen with error every few minutes, but machine works nevertheless.

Have you tried to fit the old working PCUB working board back in the machine & just replace the SSD ?

im guessing the MAC address could technically be put as anything so long as its valid characters

It can be done, but you have to contact KM and they'll assist you with restoring the device

Hi All

Thanks all for the input.

We first tried the Base Board which made no difference to periodic locking up. We then partitioned an SSD from a new (unboxed) copier and thought we'd rectified the locking up. But no. So we fitted a CPUB again from a boxed machine and it rectified it (as far as we're aware to date).

But the message for the MAC address and scanner serial number came up on the display. The scanner serial number message has disappeared! So we assume it automatically populated, maybe after a fresh power on?

So left the MAC address issue. We contacted a KM specialist who told us to do a Data Clear. This did not fix it. So what we've done is disable Market Place as we suspect it is contacting KM's IWS site and can see that the MAC address on the site does not match that on the copier, from its records aaaaaarrggghhh!

Disabling Market Place (they don't use it anyway) it appears after 15 mins or so to have got rid of the message, but who knows it might reappear! This is a cheap and cheerful workaround we realise but for the moment seems to have got rid of it. The 'i' Series machines seemed to be riddled with electronic bugs and failures. Every other 'i' Series is giving very similar issues.....

As far as I know the MAC address is stored on the Base Board. Did you reinstall the original BASEB in the MFP?

Thanks for the tip to disable marketplace. It worked for me.
Originally error was shown after 1min of inactivity, right at the point when Marketplace screensaver is shown. Disabling it, error is gone.

MAC address should be stored on the Base Board but on A3 i-series it changes with the replacement of the CPU board, that's for sure.
Maybe it's the same on A4 i-series but they show no error because they haven't got Marketplace installed AFAIR.

Administrator - Network - IWS- Marketplace - disable
That is part of standard setup I do every new machine.
Never had problems with this Konica bloatware after that.

SW 172 to 1
Network IWS settings Marketplace --> "Disable"

the fact KM runup even instructs how to turn off marketplace says a lot
