I am trying to understand what the difference is between the Minolta CF3102 and the Bizhub C350. I know that the speed, toner and most internals are different and obviously the color and control panels are different, but what I was curious to know is, how is the color quality and how do you know what controller you have in the CF3102.... i.e CN3101 or CN3102?

I know that the Bizhub is awesome but what about the CF3102?

Do the Bizhubs and CF3102 have the Fiery built into them or is that a stand alone item like it is with most other copiers?

Sorry about all the newb questions, but thanks in advance.

The CF3102 is kick ass. I have one set up with a booklet finisher and about 400,000 on the meter that rocks. I have never had issues with the 3102 IU's failing prematurely, and I know that is not the case with the bizhub. The firery is a stand alone that hooks to the back. The machine is a workhorse.

Both are great machines, in my opinion the CF3102 gives better colour prints, pictures and output, but that may be that the C450 I compared with is set up for more office-like use...

The CF3102 has a Fiery 3102E controller it is mounted on the rear of the machine. The C350 has a Fiery IC401 controller mounted the same way. The C350 is the intitial Bizhub range after the merginging of Konica and Minolta the major diferences between the machines is the consumables which the machines use the C350 is closer to the C450 in this way. The standard controller for he C350 is basic generic controller with only a PCL driver available so a Fiery IC401 would be a better controller for this machine. The built in controllers are only marginal in there performance.

Hope this helps

C2002/3102 are great machines. Built like a tank. Had one do 2.4mil in 11 months, Damn guy was setting his alarm at night to refill the paper! The iu motors are a work of art with a friction drive ,no gears for a real smooth halftone. The only downside was the PF18 LCC sucked and the door latches (carry 6 at all times)

C350 is also a good machine but ran into problems with iu's and background as soon as iu production went to china.
