I have a 8050 that says "operating please wait" This will not go away and the machine will run for hours like that. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Fuser looks fine. I even removed the web and everything appears normal

Are you sure thats the exact message? or is it "copying please wait" or "adjusting please wait"

Hello,
Yes, it says "Please Wait" Adjusting and it will not go away. I can get it to print data sheets from the "36" mode but thats it

Thats usually DMAX adjusting but it usually happens when the machine has been off for more the 6 hours,or every 1000 pages .or even if the humidity has changed at least 30%,sorry thats all i have for you.how long have you let it sit with that message ?

Hi Luther,
I got this machine last week and when I tested it out, it read the same thing. Then I turned it off and back on again and it said to replace the yellow toner. I did that and got it to make a few copies but then after turning it on again it will run for hours if I let it and still says its adjusting. There has got to be a specific reason it will not go out of that mode and the manual say nothing.
Thanks

Have you checked the other toners?

Yes,
The other toners are good but since I have new ones in stock I will replace them all and see it it does any good.
Thanks

This may be a red herring but on the c6500 if DIPSW 11-1 is set to 1 the error codes are ignored and in a fault situation the machine will do this. Perhaps you should check your handbook for a similar dip-sw.

Start the machine up in 3-6 mode and make some test
