IU310K vs IU410K imaging unit

Hi I am in a major bind... machine down (c450) got a IU310K unit shipped instead of an IU410K only realized it after I opened it and installed inside machine... it fits fine, closes alright, but the machine does not recognize the unit... i have reset chips for the IU410K on hand, can I just switch the chip or will that mess up the machine? I really appreciate your help? thanks!!!!
