View Full Version : I have a canon IR2200 error Code E000602 - 0003

Hi plz anybody know what is the errorcode E000602 - 0003
the copier was working just fine untill :( i opened the sheet drawer and i 've placed some sheets then i saw it giving me this error and i cant get to the service menu also ?? anybody have a solution:confused:

try going in to disc check service mode to clear the sectors this should work if it doesnt you will need to replace the hard drive

the error u r having is a hard drive error..

Try HD clear & then HD check for every sector in service mode. Then try to upgrade system software;If nothing works change hard disk ,format & install system software. Let us know.

I've solved the problem it was a sector error , and i solved it by pressing both 1&9 keys at the same time the machine started the HD Diagonose and it repared the sector error without replacing the HDD thank god

Well we have the same error at work...i tried the * 2 and 8 then * but couldn't access the service menu.

The technician came in he said the HDD needs changing...I don't buy that

one thing u could try is t turn main power off then hold down the 1 and 9 keys and turn on main power things will take about 20 minutes to do then it will come up with down load mode turn power off.. if that does not work it will need a new hard drive they do go bad in these machines..

You need to get the HDD replaced. Using the DSK CHK utility (1&9 while powering up) may fix the bad sector and get rid of the error, but more likely than not, the error will come back. This problem happens alot in these models and since they're getting older,.... well, you can figure out the rest.

How long does normally run? Does it start with just a blinking cursor?

Yes - it starts with a blinking cursor in the upper left. There should be solid "squares" along the bottom as the check runs, and once finished will go into DOWNLOAD MODE. I have never had any luck using that Download Mode so I always turn the system off and power it back using 28.

Canon says the scan takes 20 minutes but I find it is more like 45 - and that is if it actually ends properly (as in does not hang).

I think he is right to suggest you replace the HDD rather than trying to recover it.

Thanks, this post helped me diagnose the error code for my client. I have performed the 1&9 ckdsk and it is running now. been 40 minutes so far and still running, but it is scanning. Just taking longer than stated on this thread. I am sure it will at least fix this temporarily. If not... perhaps its time for a new machine. :cool:
