I know these counters do have an impact on the machine so its important they reflect what is actually in the machine so with that in mind forgive my ignorance but what actually happens as a drum ages ?

Just trying to learn about how they work does the charge get stronger as the drum ages as I guess as it wears it becomes less conductive but not completely sure.

We do alot of refurbs or hires in our work shop where sometimes we dont always put new drums in its just a case of right that ones better than what its got so use that. I have seen a few where you get like bands or stripes of black right through the copy but where there is actually print it is perfect with an outline of white then the bands of black continue through the copy. Proberly really basic stuff but what is happening in those cases ?

Can you get away with using a second hand drum if you had to and what would be the right way of doing it so if you wanted to set up the machine so it accepted it ?

Thanks alot for any help,
Mike
