I donot have a secure server here so it is a bit difficult sharing this scan I will try and send on today
More info. We ran prints on our two showroom machines C5501 and C6501, thet are both both giving us the same banding condition
We run test prints in the technical mode test prints, set all four colours to 100 halftone and test pattern 53
we do the prints on line1 and the bands appear on dot1

I will keep you posted if we found anything new

ahhhh is this prominent in yellow? If so you need to turn the special screen dipsw for DOT off. It was designed to fix one problem but actually causes pretty horrfic banding.

Answer From Japan

subject
yellow banding on dot1
This color apearance is totally "normal" behavour on this type of engine.
It is because under dot 1 the laser writes under a different angle and therefor yellow banding will occur ONLY on dot 1.
A very good workaround is the following:
- Utility
- System settings
- Expert adjustment
- Quality adjustment
- Custome screen
Now, select DOT2 -> TYPE2

After the settings are changed, perform all instructions on the same screen.

Next step is to callibrate the engine. I will reccoment to callibrate all screen types.
After engine callibration, callibrate the controller and here as well, make sure you callibrate DOT2.

Before you send the print job, select DOT2 type in the driver, or send the printjob to the hold que and change the screen settingin the job properties.
Please let me know your results.
Kind regards,

as per this answer we have to user dot 2
and this will close this query

thanks alot for your input
