DI550 service manual and printing problem

Need to get a copy of the service manual for this machine DI550

also it has an interface card (pi5500) on board but cannot get it working, panel button beeps when pressed for online but lamp will not light.

Try updating the Pi5500 firmware via the parallel interface.

Sometimes the firmware becomes corrupt and sending the firmware down can sometimes fix the issue.

Thanks Owl, have the file downloaded but how do I send ot to the machine. Have loaded printer driver to pc and nothing still happens.

Have rung for a service rep to come out but so far not heard from them for nearly a week.

Also the touch display has no illumination so hard too read, any suggestions???

Install the driver on your laptop and set it to LPT1.

To install the firmware, use the following command and the command prompt:

copy /b filename.ext lpt1

This will copy the firmware to the Pi5500. Once the laptop says that the file has been copied, then you must wait at least 10 mins to make sure the controller has finished writing the firmware. Turn the machine off, then back on, wait for 10 mins and power cycle again.

As for your control panel being dim, make sure that the contrast control hasn't been turned right down.
