I have always had to replace drum unit and developer as a set, or 2557 code appears. Clear pc counter and run f-8.

Try reseting drum counter then setting ATDC vtge to around the 85 mark!.Run machine up and test about 100 copies to make sure code doesnt return! Saves on a drum and dev!!!!...Si

Sometimes the machine jumps into code before you can clear counters and perform F8 calibration because it wants to print a fax or print job in memory as its first priority. here was the solution that worked - thanks Tech Support Montreal for your patience and solid advice.

Problem: glue on drum and cleaning blade was leaving lines on copy
I removed front side cover of drum unit, removed drum, cleaned CL.BL.
but when I put it back in copier, I got a C-2557 code = toner sensor not reading Dev
even after new drum unit, new dev unit, new dev was installed same code

Solution: the following procedure was successful
1. Clear Image memory - docs trying to print ( fax or print job )
at warmup a small + sign appears a left of display - Press 3
select Clear Image Data option
Enter 8 digit serv. code ( 00000000 ) / End
Image Data Clear/Yes.
Exit to get out and turn off/on Main Switch
2. in Service Mode - Clear Special Parts counter
select IU and Dev then C to clear
3. then replace units physically
4. if dev is replaced - Tech.Mode - Function - F8 - Start
dev will calibrate in 2 minutes

OK

1. Clear counter for drum
2. Turn off machine.
3. Open side dore (or duplex door)
4. Turn ON machine
5. It show ,,side door open,,
6. Go to Sevice Mode
7. Find in Function F8
8. Close side door
9. Run F8
10 wait to start button blink green

PS
If parts all new with dev. DV310

Hi all,

I am running KM c350.
Can anyone tell me what is function F8.(RunF8)
How does it work, and what is the reason behind
it to run F8.
Does this reset the IU Life counter?
I appreciate if anyone can provide me in detail on this.

Regards.
