Im replacing a Ricoh color machine with a C450 my customer was printing
when we noticed on couple of prints

the ricoh printed brighter the picture looked like it was taken in the day

while my C450 picture looked as if it was taken at dusk

both prints were good quality it was just that the minolta looked darker

we tried different settings but were unable to get that pic to look lighter

Did you try fiddling with the quality adjustments on the printer driver?

PCL or PS driver? I notice the PCL driver will come out lighter (I believe it might be the other way around)

Did you calibrate the C450? That helps as well. But I would bet money it's the type of driver you are using. (I've seen it happen)

its hard to compare the output of 2 different brands. too many variables. in that situation- go with the machine that gives the best copy. i hate when customers tell me "my old (insert brand here) printed this much better"

then go buy that brand again! lol

It could also be the setting on the old Ricoh print driver. If you haven't deleted it look at the color setting and see if the doc wasn't over-tweeked there. Also, if you can print the doc out on another MFP what does it look like there? EMujo
